Investment in new imaging technology
PDS has continued its six year relationship with GE Medical as its supplier of Echocardiography imaging equipment by recently upgrading all our equipment to the new GE Vivid –q.
The Vivid-q builds on the many industry leading features and technologies of Vivid-i with more performance, new quantitative analysis tools and a wider range of applications.
Pete Jones, PDS Medical Lead Cardiac Physiologist said “Use of the Vivid-q by our team of highly skilled Echocardiographers will ensure that the service we deliver remains excellent and that Commissioners, GP referrers and our Secondary Care colleagues can be reassured in the quality of images and detail that are captured.”
New Ultrasound service
PDS are thrilled to announce the availability of a brand new service in the PDS Medical Portfolio.
We are now able to offer a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound including general Abdominal Ultrasound, Gynaecological Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, Renal Tract Ultrasound, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Testicular Ultrasound.
All our Ultrasound Services will be mobile and delivered closer to patient’s homes, ideally in their local GP practice. Access will be within two weeks, and reports will be with Medical Referrers within 24 hours of the scan taking place.

Image management system
PDS Medical is excited to announce that we have invested in the procurement a secure web-based ultrasound and image management system.
UltraLinq allows for the reliable reviewing, reporting, managing, sharing, distribution and archiving of all Echocardiograms.
This means that via the web, Secondary Care Consultants, using very strict security protocols, can have almost immediate access to Echocardiograms conducted in Primary Care and removes the need for a repeat Echo to be conducted.
All exams are reported on and uploaded at the time of the scan and can be distributed within minutes of it being taken if needed.
PDS Medical, Medical Director, Dr Peter Smith said “We are delighted to be using Ultralinq, it is seen as a very important addition to an already high quality service. It will allow us to support GPs even more in ensuring that people get the best care, in the most appropriate environment by the correct Healthcare Professional”.
